Family Support

At Walter Halls we want our families and children to know where they can go if they require any additional support.

We are here to offer support to our families, if you have any concerns, in relation to child attendance, development, behavior concerns, friendships issues, sleep management or issues at home, please contact the school office and we can arrange a confidential meeting for you to speak to a member of our team.

Should you wish to speak to us you can call the school office (0115 9150045) or alternatively email us at:

katie.merrington-ingley@walterhalls.nottingham.sch.uk
lee.neal@walterhalls.nottingham.sch.uk

We have a school PTA which we have called ‘Friends of Walter Halls’ (FOWH), if you wish to get involved, please email kerrie.chandler@walterhalls.nottingham.sch.uk

We run a non-profit scheme for school uniform, general clothing, household items and toys to help our families, this supports the reduction of clothing waste in Nottingham by upcycling school uniforms in particular. We call this scheme Take Home Tuesday, and all our families are welcome to come to school from 2.30 - 3.30pm each Tuesday to access this provision.   Should you wish to volunteer in running this scheme, please contact Kerrie Chandler on the email address above.

At Walter Halls we value the whole child and do whatever we can to support child welfare as well as academic success. Children who are happy, safe, secure and supported learn best of all.

Gail Holmes is available to support our families with a variety of issues, such as: attendance, behaviour, relationships and any general concerns around family welfare.

Kerrie Chandler supports children to feel safe and happy in school, she runs a 'Time to Talk' service for children who can self-refer to her as well as therapeutic play sessions for selected individuals.

Lee Neal works with individual children, small groups and supports in classrooms. He supports children with additional needs, as well as behavioural needs.

OUR PHILSOPHY IS TO BE OPEN AND HONEST AND BE AVAILABLE FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN TO HAVE SOMEONE TO TALK TO.
